Project Description
Today, April 22nd is Earth Day and Bliss is celebrating earth day not just today but every day. In keeping with the 2022 Earth Day theme of investing in our planet, Bliss is looking to set the new standard for environmental travel responsibility, to prove sustainability doesn’t mean sacrificing style, convenience, or comfort when travelling.
So yes, whilst most of the time we nail the Bliss experience, from time-to-time we make mistakes and although we’ll fess up and turn wrongs into rights, we’re only human after all and there are some things that we won’t apologise for and doing our bit for the environment is one of them!
Grab a brew and take five, whilst we tell you about some changes we’ve made to more eco-friendly features & practices that we won’t be apologising for:
Want to get more of our news and offers, instantly?
• Say Goodbye To Single Use-Plastic: No plastic water bottles, only large glass decanters and no miniature toiletries, sorry we know they’re supper sweet & stealable, but the Earth is just more important!
• We Like It Bulk-Sized: Now, now, we mean soap dispensers! We know they’re not the most Instagrammable thing in our bathrooms, but also… no little bottles to steal – we see you! We also use Eco-friendly cleaning products.
• We Like to Conserve Our Energy: By that we mean no fridges or mini bars in our rooms! Need something that needs storing or refrigerating? Just ask we’ll be happy to help.
• Durable And Reusable: Did you know our in-house cups are made from recycled coffee HUSKS? So, not only are they environmentally friendly, we think that they’re adorable!
• One Man’s Trash Is Another Man’s Treasure: Some might say, what a load of … rubbish but we think it’s true, that’s why Bliss is furnished with materials reflective of its coastal location and some are upcycled or bought second-hand.
• Reducing Our Carbon Footprint: For those who like it electric, we have charging points just for you in our hotel carpark.
• Walk This Way: We’re lucky to call Southport our home (for our maiden hotel), it’s nestled within plenty of nature reserves & dunes plus 22 miles of landscape along the Sefton Coastal Path!
• Keeping It Local: Let’s talk about something very little hotels mention… taking public transport once you’re here why not use your bicycle to explore! No bike? No worries they can be hired from the Eco Visitor Centre and Southport Train Station or take advantage of Southport’s Park & Ride.
Whilst we know that removing the use of plastic straws and mini toiletries isn’t enough, it’s a step forward, that’s why we’re constantly & continuously reviewing & improving by evaluating both our short and long-term commitments, as well as the social impact of all aspects of the operations!
We want to create meaningful experiences whilst we help you to help the planet. Our goal is to contribute to the planet and give you an unforgettable stay in Southport, but we won’t apologise for thinking Sustaina-bliss!
