Dinner is served ?

Iain Donald knows everything there is to know about restaurants and running successful brands – so who else would we bring onto the project to lead on the operations and work with the team on food delivery and brand positioning?

Scottish born and bred – his career began at the world famous as a chef at  Gleneagles and Dorchester hotels along with spells overseas returning back to Manchester where he continues to be based.

He moved into frontline management with SSP in 1995.

Five years later he joined Est Est Est as Operations Director, where he grew the brand from 8 restaurants to 22 before its sale in 2007.

He then became a Founding Partner and Operations Director of Individual Restaurant Company comprising of 22 Piccolino’s and 10 Restaurant bar and grill’s.  Here, he learnt his craft in both understanding and developing menus and concepts that appeal to the consumer and that stand out in a crowded market. Whilst the importance and need of delivering service discipline and operational controls to turn a profit. His skills resulted in massive growth for the group with 32 sites across the UK.

It was during his tenure at Individual Restaurant Company that Iain’s talent was recognised nationally, and in 2010 he won a Catey for ‘Restaurateur of the Year – Group’.


In 2012  his Consultancy business was born and he took some non-exec board positions on including The Mere Resort.
